We called into the house today to grab some more photos and for me to check the paint job in natural daylight. Again, it is really hard to see the true colour in these pictures, the one in the garage is probably the best indicator. The photo with all of the doors looks very yellow - which it isn't.
Now that there is paint on the wall I can see what a great job the plasterers have done. It did look very straight and neat, but with paint on I cannot see any joins or waves in the ceilings or walls - well done fellas!
We will also let the kids select a feature wall colour for their bedrooms (with a bit of guidance).
This photo shows our exterior selection, the tiles are Boral Macquarie in a colour called Ebony. The gutters and fascia are painted with Wattyl Sunfast in Colourbond Paperbark (used to be called Marino). The bricks are Boral Settler Sandstock.
We are really happy with our choices and how it has turned out :-)

Lookin' fabulous, guys! On the home stretch, ey! Wooo!
Hey guys - it's looking great. Your gutters and fascia is a great colour (says me who is bias because that's the colour we have!!!).
Re your question on our blog about getting straight lines on the feature walls. We did a pretty good job we think, there are just a few touch ups that need fixing on the cornice where I went a little bit too far with the roller. Woops!
John was crowned the 'cutting in' king, and I was the 'roller' queen. John learnt very quickly that the trick to cutting in and getting a straight line was to actually gently push your brush against the edge, rather than sweep down the corner in one motion (it's really hard to explain). You get a jagged look to start with but when you go over it the second time it evens out. Then you just have to get the roller as close to the edge as you can without touching the other wall!! After 7 walls and 2 coats each we got pretty good at it.
On the red wall there is a bit in the middle that I'm not happy with but you can only see it when you stand on a certain angle so we are just going to leave it. If it really annoys us we will stick a picture over the top or something!!
Anyway, hope that helps a bit. Your place is looking fantastic.

Wow. Its almost a tale of two cities. Here you are at week 12 with the house painting well under way,no problems with plaster or brick to speak of, yet here we are going into week 17 with an inspection report containing three pages of defects inside and out,and the painting hasn't even looked like starting :-(
Your place just shows what we thought we could expect.Oh well tomorrows another day ;-)
